There are several backpacker-type accommodation establishments scattered throughout the Kruger Lowveld region, some are located within the city of Mbombela (Nelspruit), wher modern facilities and transport hubs readily availble; while others can be found in rural areas, sometimes run as community projects where the emphasis is on community upliftment. |
Camping and Caravanning |

Most of the Kruger National Park’s large rest camps have camping facilities, while not all may have modern amenities such as electricity, they are well managed with clean ablution facilities. Outside the Park, there are numerous camping and caravanning options to chose from through the region. |
Self-Catering |

The region abounds with self-catering establishments, from luxury houses within private game reserves to a chalet in a large resort. With few exceptions, all accommodation within the Kruger National Park is self catered. |
Bed & Breakfast / Guesthouse |

Most accommodation outside the Kruger National Park falls within this category and quality may range from the basic to the luxurious. Guesthouses generally serve dinner (sometimes only by prior arrangement). |
Country Lodge / Inn |

Game Lodge |

Situated within a game reserves, game lodges offer the visitor a full safari experience such as guided game drives and walks as well as full board accommodation. The price will determine the level of luxury but generally the safari experience will be the same. |
