Pilgrim’s Pantry which is a family restaurant, with liquor licence is next door to the arts and crafts shop. These two businesses are owned by the same person.
The restaurant offers a peaceful atmosphere, with it’s birds, garden, water features and safe play area for children.
Mrs. Van Wyk was the local herbalist and midwife – known as “Mamma” Van Wyk.
The house was built in 1910 and during 1915 the Van Wyk family moved in.

From the late 1960's to 1972 the residence was used as a youth hostel.
The food which is served on our own pottery guarantees you of a feast to be remembered – not forgetting the best cappuccino, coffees and mampoer milkshakes in the area.
We are situated in “Downtown” Pilgrim’s Rest, a picturesque village in peaceful surroundings.
Enjoy our South African menu, genuine cappuccino and espresso served in our very own pottery made on the premises.
This joint ownership business has a Victorian coffee bar as well as arts & crafts manufactured on the premises by the local population. Crafts include, pottery, stained glass, weaving, hot glass and more, which is open to the public.
Within the gardens of The Pilgrim’s Pantry, the local bird population is in abundance.
We gladly cater for bus groups with both a set menu and a tour of our open studios.
Plenty of parking is available.
Our aim is to please the customer. A pre-arranged set menu is prepared for the larger groups, smaller groups may order from the menu on arrival or in advance.
Menu includes dishes such as Babotie, pancakes, koeksusters, milktart, lemon meringue, cheese cake, vetkoek burgers and of course the popular trout dishes, plus much more.
Take-away menu is also available.
