An entire road, called the Geotrail is dedicated to numerous sites where evidence of the first signs of life on earth can be seen (through much interpretation by geologists), but the easy-to-follow signs along the route will assist.
The highlight of this route is the Lebombo view point where you can see samples of all the rock formations and all of the interpretations at one place. It is also a spectacular view point where you can see the mountains of three countries on a clear day, South Africa, eSwatini and Mozambique.
Visit the oldest mountains on earth where the first life originated some 3,8 billion years ago. Follow the R40 from Barberton towards the Bulembo Border to eSwatini.
