The Kruger National Park is one of the most famous conservation areas in the world. It was established in 1898 by Paul Kruger, the fifth president of the South African Republic. The park covers an area of 19 633km2, making it one of the largest game reserves in Africa. The area is under conservation and managed by or in association with South African National Parks (SANParks).
